Artwork

When creating art, it is important to know exactly what you are trying to achieve, and how to achieve it, so it is a good idea to keep notes or journals with your ideas and concepts, and have your design clear in your mind before you begin. Using the scenes or objects, ideas or concepts which have inspired you, brainstorm,  and think about where to begin, and each step that must be taken.

Sometimes, the support you use doesn’t need  to be painted, but if it does, I have found it much better to go slowly and apply very thin paint onto wet or damp fabric, then, when dry, decide if and where you would like more, but always add thinly.  Then add your threads, and fabric pieces to form your conceptual theme, and enjoy the journey into your creation.
